Collection Appreciation

This water dropper, made in the Yongzheng imperial style, features a robust and rounded form with a gold-gilded rim. The interior is glazed in turquoise green, while the base bears a blue enamel "Yongzheng Nian Zhi" mark, reflecting standard imperial craftsmanship. The exterior displays an intricate design of hundred flowers on a black ground, with lotus, peony, orchid, and chrysanthemum blossoms interwoven in full bloom. Vibrant enamel hues—pink, red, yellow, and green—are finely applied to create lustrous, delicate petals and leaves with clearly defined veins and layers. The rim and foot are adorned with ruyi scrolling vines and lotus petal motifs, showcasing elaborate and meticulous workmanship. Exclusive to the Qing court, Yongzheng famille-rose enamels were produced under strict standards and are now rare. This piece stands out for its rich colors, even application, and striking contrast between gold and black ground. Combining practicality with imperial aesthetics, it remains in excellent condition and represents a significant example of Qing dynasty official kiln studio ware, holding high scarcity and premium potential in the auction market.
