This Song Dynasty Ru kiln vessel is a classic display masterpiece. It features an allium-shaped bulbous mouth with flared rim, and its neck and body are divided by horizontal bands mimicking bamboo joints, symbolizing continuous advancement. The entire piece is glazed in the standard Ru kiln pale blue-green celadon, with a thick, lustrous, buttery matte finish. It displays natural, fine crackle patterns resembling cicada wings, creating a warm, jade-like texture. The vessel's lines are smooth and balanced, embodying the minimalist aesthetic of Song dynasty scholars. The base bears an inscribed Song dynasty date mark, executed in a restrained, antique style. The body is crafted from fine, dry ash-gray clay, with well-defined support marks. The piece is complete, free of chips, cracks, or glaze loss—an exceptionally rare find. Given the extreme scarcity of Ru ware, this piece holds supreme archaeological, artistic, and long-term investment value.
