This teapot is an authentic masterpiece by Shi Dabin, a renowned master of Ming Dynasty Zisha pottery. It measures 19.5cm in total length and 12.3cm in height. Crafted from premium raw purple clay, the material possesses a warm, fine texture with a rich, mellow patina developed over centuries. Its color is deep and understated. The body is round and full, featuring a simple yet grand form. The short spout ensures smooth pouring, while the curved handle fits comfortably in the hand. The lid sits perfectly flush with the rim, creating a seamless, harmonious silhouette. Inscribed on the body are the lines: "Rare as jade in this world; abundant fragrance within the pot," followed by the signature: "Shi Dabin (Yuanmei), Winter Month of Jiachen Year." The calligraphy, carved with bold, vigorous strokes, blends seamlessly with the vessel, embodying the aesthetic ideals of Ming literati Zisha art. Shi Dabin was a pivotal figure in the history of Zisha tea ware, pioneering the tradition of scholar-crafted teapots. Authentic pieces from his hand are exceedingly rare.
