This Ming Xuande blue-and-white with underglaze red bowl represents the pinnacle of imperial kiln porcelain from the Ming Dynasty. Its form is dignified and well-proportioned, featuring a flared rim, curved belly, and soft, flowing lines that convey the regal elegance reserved for imperial use. The exterior is decorated with pines and bamboo in cobalt blue, while plum branches are delicately highlighted in underglaze red. The composition balances density and spacing masterfully, executed with bold, confident brushwork. The blue is rich and deep, the red vivid and pure; together, they create a striking visual harmony. A scrolling grass pattern adorns the rim, and the base bears a six-character regular script mark in blue: "Da Ming Xuan De Nian Zhi" (Made in the Xuande Reign of the Great Ming), a hallmark typical of official Xuande kilns. Producing blue-and-white pieces with underglaze red during the Xuande era was extremely difficult, making surviving examples exceptionally rare. This bowl remains in pristine condition, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship, profound historical significance, and exceptional artistic value. It stands among the finest examples of Ming porcelain and is an outstanding choice for collectors and investors alike.
