Collection Appreciation

This piece is a six-sided long-necked vase in the Qing Dynasty imperial kiln style, featuring a sacrificial blue glaze. The body is divided into six lobes, with an elegant straight neck and a rounded melon-shaped belly, creating a dignified and upright silhouette. The rim is adorned with gold detailing, enhancing its regal elegance. Covered entirely in a uniform sacrificial blue glaze, the surface is smooth and lustrous, displaying a deep, serene hue that embodies the classic "solemn and tranquil" quality of this glaze. The base bears a standard seal mark in regular script, reflecting the strict regulations of the Imperial Workshop. Sacrificial blue was exclusively used for imperial rituals during the Ming and Qing dynasties; it required exceptional firing expertise. The six-sided shaping process was particularly complex, making complete surviving examples rare. This vase boasts impeccable form and pure, refined coloration, combining ritual significance with aesthetic appeal. As a high-quality example within the monochrome porcelain collection category, similar imperial monochrome pieces have consistently appreciated in value at auctions, demonstrating strong market potential.
