Collection Appreciation
This pair of vases is a standard masterpiece of Yongzheng-era palace enamel ware, preserved as a matched set. The base bears the four-character blue-glaze inscription "Yongzheng Nian Zhi" (Made in the Reign of Yongzheng), reflecting strict and standardized craftsmanship. The vessels feature a hexagonal bamboo-joint long-neck design with an elegant, upright silhouette. Set against an imperial exclusive bright yellow ground, the body is fully decorated with cloisonné-style intertwined lotus and auspicious dragon-cloud motifs outlined in gold lines. Soft pink, azure, and green pigments are applied with delicate precision, creating rich layers that remain visually organized. The bamboo-joint neck is segmented with ruyi-floral patterns, while the rim and foot are accented with gold trim, exuding opulence and regal elegance. Matched official kiln enamel vases from this period are exceptionally rare due to high firing losses. These pieces hold significant ceremonial and display value. With their pristine condition, vibrant colors, and auspicious symbolism, they represent a scarce category in ceramics auctions, enjoying high collector demand and substantial market appreciation potential.
