<p>This masterpiece, "Qingfeng (Clear Peaks)" by the renowned artist Zhang Daqian, represents the pinnacle of his landscape painting career. Drawing upon the artistic lineage of the Five Dynasties master Ju Ran, this work integrates Zhang's mature mid-career style of green-and-blue landscape painting. It stands as a definitive example of his仿古 (imitation ancient) landscapes.</p><p>The composition features majestic, layered mountain ranges. The brushwork skillfully blends Ju Ran's characteristic soft, long "hemp-fiber" strokes with Zhang's innovative splashed-cyan technique. Layers of blue, green, and ink create rich tonal gradations, while waterfalls, pavilions, towers, trees, and bridges are arranged in a harmonious interplay of solid and void. The piece captures both the grandeur of Song Dynasty painting and the refined elegance of literati art.
